“No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world.”
— Robin Williams

I am currently a master's level student at Liberty University where I am studying to be a clinical mental health counselor. I currently work in crisis intake, and have participated in crisis work for the last two years.

About Me

I became interested in counseling for a number of reasons. After spending some time working in marketing, I realized the thing I enjoy doing the most is working with people. I saw a quote somewhere that once said "you have become the person that you needed as a kid", and from that moment forward, I decided I wanted to be the person that other people also come to for healing and improved outcomes in their lives. Robin William's part as Sean Maguire may or may not have played a signficant role in my choice in career as well.

Books I Draw From

I love learning and discussing ideas in psychology and personal development. Here are some of my favorite books.

Values

Compassion

I believe everyone deserves to be met with warmth, patience, and respect.

Curiosity

I believe that we can all take note of Dr. Irvin Yalom, and can "look out the other person's window".

Hope and Growth

I believe everyone deserves the chance to form new connections, and reach the goals in their lives.

Authenticity

I believe that everyone deserve to be approached with honesty and integrity.

Beliefs

Autonomy

Every single client deserves to maintain and withhold their own autonomy.

Resilience

Every client is more than just their most difficult challenges.

Outreach

I believe everyone deserves the chance to form new connections, and reach the goals in their lives.

Difficult Conversations

Counselors have the responsibility of making space for difficult conversations and emotions.
